Our methodology
The methodology for the Resilience Diagnostic is based on a two-step approach.
Attribute development: The attributes and dimensions of reputational resilience were identified through a detailed literature review of leading academic papers, journals and other publications, followed by an independent expert review process.
Independent benchmarking: The Resilience Diagnostic was then tested among senior-level corporate affairs professionals via an anonymous survey.
A total of 34 participants drawn from a range of FTSE 100 and FTSE 350 listed companies took part, as well as those from the non-for-profit sector and privately-owned businesses.
The mean average scores for each attribute and dimension have been used as industry benchmarks. The correlation between attribute scores and overall confidence in reputational resilience has been used to establish a weighting scheme for each dimension.
